2019 Bisons Club Wrap-Up

March 2019
Our first fundraiser of the year was the Hatchet Throwing Tournament. The competition was intense coming down to the final throw. Bob Gambino was almost perfect throughout the match and the final was no different. He was ahead by 7 points after his last throw which meant that John Giacobbe who had barely made it through each match would have to score a killshot for 10 points to win the trophy. John's final throw landed on the edge of the killshot zone so close that three judges had to confer to decide if it was in or out. After much input from the screaming Bisons (many of whom were drunk), it was decided that it was in and John was awarded the trophy for 2019. The men shook hands and went back to their beers. More importantly, with the attendance of many Bisons and the donation from Bury the Hatchet Cherry Hill, the fundraiser netted over $600 for the Tom Byrne Scholarship fund.

April 2019
Sadly, Ed Gorczynski, passed away on April 7, 2019. Please keep Ed and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

September 2019

The golf outing was a big success in 2019. The tournament was held at Pinelands Golf Course in Winslow, NJ and was won by a foursome headed by Logan Schaffer and added over $350 to the scholarship fund.

October 2019

The Beef and Beer Social was held at the VFW Post 3324 and was a huge success from many standpoints. First of all, everyone seemed to have a great time. Buck and his band really had everyone out on the dance floor. Secondly, along with the Eagles tickets raffle we netted over $2,400 for the scholarship fund.

December 2019

The Toys for Tots luncheon was a truly good time. The toy table was filled to overflowing and Sammy had to add an extra table to hold them all. Buck and his four reindeer were a smash hit and Buck only had to smash the reindeer four times to keep them singing. Joe Milo was awarded the Bison of the month which he proudly wore. Tony Parlante was the guest performer and got lots of laughter with his senior jokes which unfortunately we can all appreciate now.
